Shawn Lindstrom - Owner and Head Instructor
CIVIC LEADER
As a Ventura County Deputy Sheriff from 2000 to 2008, Shawn worked in the jail system, was a Medical Deputy, a Bailiff in the court system, worked with the evictions unit and was a patrol officer. During this time, Shawn became an expert with many firearm platforms through constant training and refining.
In an effort to ensure his children grew up respecting firearms, Shawn enrolled them in a class at Ojai Valley Junior Gun Club. They fell in love with the classes and continued to attend. As a NRA Certified Rifle Instructor, Pistol Instructor and Range Safety Officer, Shawn also assist the Club as an Instructor on a volunteer basis.

In 2016, Shawn purchased CalGunsTraining.com. He continued on the path of becoming an Expert Instructor and added many certifications to build out a comprehensive course list.

I teach basic firearms classes, CCW Classes and DOJ Classes. I use California Tactical Academy in Pire for the range. I love teaching. I have done private and group classes depending on the individual or family.
AMAZING HUMAN
I have always been interested in magic since I was a young boy. When I was 7 I watched a magic show on TV and told myself, I want to learn to do magic. I ended up making a magic trick I saw on TV. I did not pursue magic for several years. While working at the Sheriff’s Department, I had a Sergeant who was into magic. He gave me passes to the magic castle in Hollywood. I ended up taking magic classes there. The Love of magic came back and has not stopped. I have been doing magic as a hobby for about 16 years now and have Started Murtle’s Magic Academy. Murtle is a turtle and he helps kids come out of their shell through magic.
Adam Meyers - Instructor
The son of a Kern County Deputy Sheriff, Adam was a Nuclear Security Officer at Diablo Canyon Power Plant for many years. He achieved Top Gun in the Academy and continued to refine his firearm skills using multiple platforms. Like Shawn, Adam wanted to ensure his three daughters grew up respecting firearms and enrolled them in the Ojai Valley Junior Gun Club. They continued for many years as Junior Shooters, earning NRA rockers and badges and becoming excellent marks(wo)men. Adam also assists with the Junior Program as an Instructor on a volunteer basis.
